Volunteer with SheSharp

Want to create an impact in the community and support our mission? SheSharp is a non-profit run completely by unpaid volunteers. Read on to learn more about Open Roles in our team, Community Collaborator volunteer opportunities, and mentoring others.

Volunteering with SheSharp

There are so many ways to support SheSharp, we want to find the right fit. We have opportunities for our community members and allies to join our team or to support programs such as the Mentorship Program. Program or our speaking and social events.

I want to join the SheSharp team as a Team Member

Our Team Members meet regularly and are involved in the execution of multiple programs and events for our community.  You can view our current team here. Our core team members individually have primary areas of focus, however we work cross-functionally and together on our initiatives. It is important to us to have a team of diverse background and experiences, bringing different perspectives and opinions to what we do.

If you do not see a role that feels like a good fit for you, we have an Open Application in which we welcome other proposals!

I want to volunteer with the SheSharp Team as a Community Collaborator

Community Collaborator volunteers work closely with SheSharp Team Members, typically on specific initiatives and projects. This could be a pre-existing initiative (see our Roadmap) or we welcome ideas for new ones. If you are interested in joining the SheSharp Team, volunteering as a Community Collaborator is an excellent first-step to get a feel for our organisation. Our community collaborator roles are not limited to individuals that identify as an underrepresented gender in Tech.

I want to mentor someone.

Our Mentorship Program runs every year and is a great way for allies to have impact in the community. Our mentorship program applications open once a year and are separate from volunteer applications. To learn more about mentoring and our program, open our Mentorship Program page.

I'm not sure how to get involved.

You can continue reading to learn more about our organisational needs, or join us on Slack and reach out in #ask-shesharp.

Inclusivity is at the heart of our mission. We welcome your feedback on how we can improve our programs and foster safe and accessible opportunities for volunteers.  Please reach out with questions or feedback via our #ask-shesharp channel, or email info@shesharp.co.

Community Collaborator Opportunities

Want to learn more about how we incorporate Community Collaborators? Read below to find examples! Whether you want to apply for a specific opportunity, or bring your own idea - you can include it in your application submission.

Co-Working Day Host

The Netherlands / Remote

Our casual co-working days take place in Amsterdam or online. As a host, you're responsible for coordinating the time, location and attending the event. SheSharp can support in advisory, brainstorming, and promotion.

Program Facilitation and Support

The Netherlands / Remote

We offer learning and development programs and collaborate with facilitators who are interested in using SheSharp as a platform to explore their own career interests such that our community members can benefit. Examples of this include our career coaching offering and feedback workshop. It could also include supporting one of SheSharp's signature programs. Collaboration with SheSharp is dependent on the program and facilitator, but our support could include co-design, feedback, operational support, and promotion.

Events Support

The Netherlands / Remote

Events support includes but is not limited to photography, coordinating hosting, attending events, and providing information about SheSharp to newcomers - generally working to ensure our events are a success.

Content Creation

The Netherlands / Remote

Content creators primarily create blog posts and YouTube videos that serve two purposes. First and foremost, to provide free informative material to community members on relevant topics such as: technical topics, personal development, job searching, parenthood, and self-care. This creation feeds our second purpose - to keep our community active and drive traffic to our programmes, thus increasing SheSharp's visibility and potential impact.
